For the seventh consecutive year, Rocky Point High School has been recognized by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association as a Scholar-Athlete School of Excellence Award winner. Rocky Point is one of only 23 Section XI schools to earn the honor for its 25 varsity teams in the 2023-24 school year.

Rocky Point was recognized for having all its varsity teams qualify for and receive the Scholar-Athlete team award during their respective sports seasons. To qualify, every varsity team must have 75% or more of its student-athletes earn an average of 90 or higher. A certificate and commemorative award were presented to Athletic Director Jonathon Rufa at NYSPHSAA’s annual workshop. The athletic directors were joined by Section XI Executive Director Tom Combs and Robert Zayas, Executive Director of the NYSPHSAA.
